About WindowsLock
Do you have a laptop that doesn't have a Windows key? Or do you have a server that needs to always be logged in? Then this tiny app will solve your problems.
Laptop Users
The shortcut to WindowsLock on your desktop will give you a quick way to instantly lock your computer. Use the settings menu item to change the delay to
zero seconds, and then when you click the desktop icon, your laptop will automatically be locked.
Automatic Server Lock
If you have a server that needs to always be logged in as a specific user, but you don't want to leave it "unlocked", then you can use WindowsLock to help
you.
First, you'll need something to automatically log the computer in as the desired user. I recommend using Microsoft's
TweakUI
(Also available for Windows XP as
PowerToys).
The shortcut to WindowsLock that was put in your startup folder during installation will automatically lock the machine after the user has logged in.
Default Settings
By default, the application has a 10 second delay. If you'd like to alter the amount of time before it locks the computer, just use the menu item called
"WindowsLock Settings". This can be found in your menu under Start / Programs / Pharfruminsain.
Because WindowsLock could be used in varied situations, you may find that you don't require the automatic lock when you first log in. In that situation, just
delete the shortcut in your Startup folder. This can be found in your menu under Start / Programs / Startup.
